Brisbane Cycleway & Riverwalk

The perfect way to see the city is either on foot or by bike. The Bicentennial Bikeway which runs along the Brisbane River, connects the CBD to Toowong and is Brisbane city's busiest shared pathway and an important cycle and pedestrian link in the active transport network.

The 870m long Riverwalk commences at the historic Howard Smith Wharves in Brisbane CBD and ends at New Farm. The path is happily segregated into dedicated roadways for cyclists and pedestrians so neither can intrude on other’s turf, with cyclists enjoying a 3.5m path and a comfortable 2.5m one for pedestrians.

It is a great way of seeing the sights of Brisbane under your own power – whether it be pedal-power or leg-power.

Walks are held on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year and start from Boondall Wetlands Environmental Centre at 31 Paperbark Drive, Boondall.

This is a free activity! The walks all start at 9.30 am and finish at 11.30 am. Phone 07 3403 8888 to check the details.
