Tamborine Mountain offers a diverse day out just 1hr from Brisbane, Tamborine Mountain is part of the lushes Gold Coast Hinterland expanding through the South East corner of Queensland.
Home to the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk, explore the middle to upper canopies of the Rainforest as you walk along a sturdy, high-tech steel walkway. The walk also desends down to the lower canopy and rainforest floor where you can discover rockpools and waterfalls, the butterfly lookout, sheltered rest areas and a local history enclosure is along the way to the Cantilever. From Cantilever you have amazing views 30metres above the rainforest, over creeks and the Rainforest Canopies for a truly incredible nature experience.
Before commencing on the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk you will start at the Rainforest Eco Gallery where you will learn all about the flora and fauna of the region.
At Tamborine Mountain there are plenty of attractions cafes, restaurants, galleries and distilleries to keep you entertained for a full day.
Coochiemudlo Island is an exciting day out and is easy to get to, drive just 30minutes from South Brisbane to Victoria Point Jetty and take the 10minute ferry ride to island paradise.
Coochiemudlo Island is part of the Moreton Bay Islands just off Brisbane, this sweet little piece of paradise is explored by foot or bicycle as it is only 1km or so in each direction. There are 3 beautiful beaches where there are barbecue, toilet and shower facilities; two of these beaches are either side of the jetty so you don’t have to go far to relax and enjoy island life.
On Coochiemudlo Island if you don’t bring your own lunch or snacks there is Coochie Kiosk and Coochie Island Resort for dining and take away foods.
Getting to Coochie is easy, just drive to Victoria Point Jetty, park and take the ferry which departs every 30minutes between 5am-11.30pm on weekdays and 6am-10.30pm on weekends. The cost is $4 per ride, under 5’s are free, children 5-14yrs are half price and adult concessions are available with a concession card.
On Coochimondlo Island most visitors stay on the beaches close to jetty where there is everything you need for a sublime day of sun, salt and fresh air.
