The tale of two different cultures fighting for their rights to their land, based on Kate Grenville’s best- selling book, The Secret River, has been adapted for the stage and is coming to Brisbane’s Playhouse Theatre at QPAC from 25 February to 5 March.
The dramatic play follows the story of an ex-convict and his family when they claim land up the Hawksbury River and decide to start farming the land. However they soon find out that the traditional owners of the land, the Dharug people, have other ideas.
The Secret River is the story of the bloody beginnings of colonial Australia and is a riveting story of two families divided by culture and land.
Tickets start from $68 and are available at QPAC Box Office.
QPAC is located at Corner Melbourne St and Grey St, South Brisbane
